What exactly do block and magic resistance do?

    I read somewhere that a blocked attack has its slashing/crushing/explosion damaged multiplied by 1/4 and its exotic damage multiplied by 1/2. Is this accurate? Also, is it possible to block an attack that contains only exotic damage?

    What about magic resistance?

    percentage chance to halve incoming spell damage. Successfully resisting an effect also prevents harmful status conditions, debuffs, and DoT effects.
