So then here is a question: would it be possible to actually make rooms for houses? Like, could I build a kitchen and then build a middle class house around it? Would it still function?

 

A bit earlier in this thread, I tried constructing a building completely around another building. The result is that the interior building becomes inaccessible (also, funky stuff happens to the roof).
