I keep getting that darn invalid message as well, and I've checked my XMLs a billion times. It's a simple insult mod, so I don't really see how I could eff it up so much that it doesn't work at all!

(The mod works, just not on Steam Workshop or as a ZIP.)

We're still looking into that problem.

What exactly happens when you post a NEW version of your mod on SteamWorkshop?

Does it overwrites the previous version of the mod for users without their permission?
If a mod is incompatible with saves, would it make a game unplayable for those who are using a previous version of my mod?

Unfortunately, that is the way subscribing works, yes. The mod will be redownloaded and it can cause issues like you said.

...still looking in to that? Me and a modder friend can't figure out why mine won't upload.

Why create a new shortcut instead of adding "-publisher' to launch options in the client then removing it afterward?

Nevermind, I now see that this possibility was also mentioned in the op
