Boo X-Ray Dog and their refusal to make public releases. Booooooooo, I say!

I don't understand that particular choice of theirs, but there's no denying that they've put out some pretty good stuff.

I've only heard the odd track on YouTube, sadly, but I did like some of it.

Quite good, thanks for linking this. Very out-of-this-world.

For something different I like, Innerpartysystem. Kind of hard to describe. Electro-industrial rock?
Their first album (same name) I really enjoyed, the second not so much because it's just dance music.

    Heavy song:

    More mellow song:

Huh, they remind me of Pendulum, Daynab. Even the vocals sound similar.

The best part is, I found out what dubstep is due to a guy named Alex S.

I didn't know Skrillex existed until you posted that.

Since we're on that subject I should say I'm a fan of the less... obnoxious dubstep songs. I find it's pretty good background music when coding :p
But not Skrillex, for the most part.

I find dubstep is kind of an acquired taste. I hated it at first, then found a couple catchy songs and now I tolerate and enjoy most of it. The important thing to remember is there's thousands of artists who make them and it's pretty varied.

Basically songs that don't constantly WUBWUBWUBWUBEEEEEEEEEEWUBWUBWUB and it's more subtle in the background.

    Here's a few I enjoy:

If you find you can enjoy that type, here's a couple with more wub that I still enjoy.

Now I fully expect to get mocked over this but oh well :D

Wubstep is ok I guess, but I still prefer minimal when it comes to electro :)

The fun begins when you start to understand where electro minimal takes its cues from :)

Rock of all varieties, but prog in particular.

Admittedly, I've payed less attention to DT after losing Petrucci. They're still good, but it's just... different. Ah well.

Pft, yeah, hater's gonna hate. I like dorky metal too.

    And pirates.

I love Dick Valentine. (totally homo)

Been playing Beat Hazard lately, which reminded me why my music library is so big. Have a sample.

My taste hovers between indie rock/pop (usually not American but Canadian, Australian, etc) and house/electro music, mostly non-western. I used to listen to only indie music and it was really bad for me-- so much depressing, sad stuff that I'd listen to when sad and then it would make me more sad. That's why I started looking into more upbeat music.

I guess you could say my taste in music is kind of sparkly.
