This may sound incredibly ignorant to some of you. But where does the lutefisk thing come from? I know what it is, but it seems like a reference to an older game, and its been driving me nuts as to what it is.

Lutefisk is whitefish or some other similar substitute that has been processed with lye (yes, lye) to preserve it and make it more preservable in the cold winters of Scandanavia, where it originated. You can learn more about it from Wikipedia though.

    In my opinion, it tastes...funny.

Thanks for the info. I was also under the impression its a reference to and older game, possibly a roguelike? Is this true or am I completely mad? haha

    It's the phrasing.

"Lutefisk for the Lutefisk God!" = "Blood for the Blood God!", basically. As best I know the phrase originates from Warhammer 40k, it sorta became a very common phrase among gamers. One I've heard alot.
