Add a stat point or something to Alien Autopsy

Not only does the Alien Autopsy ability of the Paranormal Investigator have no value to non-crafting builds, but if acquired late in the game it can be worthless even to crafting intensive characters. You should add a point of savvy or aethereal resistance or something to the level to make it more worthwhile.

  2. It's already quite good in any build that can use it (IE, relies on getting hidden recipes), since it's the only source of recipe grinding in the game. I don't think it really needs a buff.

    What about visiting wizardlands?

What about it? One skill point spent on random bonus recipes for the rest of a character's life seems like enough of a boost over putting in wizardlands codes ad nauseum til you found one with bookshelves that gave you the recipe you wanted to justify itself to a crafter. If you aren't a crafter, take it last or accept the base rogue stat points on the way to alien weapon?

TBH, it's not like Alien Weapon is a capstone worth going way out of your way for anyway.

Well, depending on whether you are a crafting character or not. If you are, and if you have Perception, then you will desire Alien Autopsy and you will desire it strongly.

Not talking about Autopsy. Just saying that the skill on the other side of Autopsy -- Alien Weapon -- isn't all that, so if you're not playing a crafter, fighting past the uselessness of Autopsy to get to Alien Weapon is kind of a non-issue...because it's no loss.

I remember it got better if you had Eye of Ra active. Is it worth it to level both trees to completion? Or is that just too much work for too little reward?

The combo buff is called Power of the Goa'uld. 35 turns of: 2:burliness:2:sagacity:3:melee_power:3:magic_power:. Considering how overpowered sandstorm is anyway... I'd say not really a big enough boon to build around.
