Who is using Bitcoins?

I have a SSD and as such, my storage space is quite limited. The Bitcoin Client uses ~4.35GB space at current due to it keeping a record of *EVERY* transaction ever made. I want out. But I do not want to just let my lonely 1.02 BTC go to waste, so I am offering it to anyone who wants it.

It is not much, but it was what I earned mining over a month or more.

If you want it, please post here to indicate you want it, and then send me a PM with the address to send the BTC to.

I do not care what you do with it, but I hope you will not let it go to waste as I am.

Nobody uses bitcoin anymore, Omni. And even when it was used, it was a tiny amount of people.

You are mistaken. Plenty of online services use them. Several games we have discussed here in these very forums accepted them as payment. And you can even buy food with them at certain places.

Those two I had from my search for a VPN a month or two back.

And best of all links, please do yourself a favor and check this one out. If it were not for the amount of space required to use them, they would actually be my preferred method for all accepting purchases/services.

In reality I anticipate that BTC will eventually be acceptable payment for Steam. Likewise for a number of middleman services like Amazon that accept payments for others.

*Edit* I should have checked more before typing this up. There is already a way to turn BTC into an Amazon Gift Card for any purchase through Amazon.

(All this came from http://www.weusecoins.com/getting-started.php and I cannot actually resolve the site that says it would convert BTC to Amazon Gift Cards.)

I think the only appropriate solution here is to use BC to get some money for steam, and buy copies of Dungeons of Dredmor to give away.

Since the conversion is around 1 BC to 12 USD, i guess you could buy one complete or two base.

The only problem is the conversion usually has a flat fee that would chew up the entirety of the 1.02 BTC.

Otherwise I would gladly do that and just offer a free Steam copy of the game with all expansions for whomever wants it.

*Edit* If anyone actually uses BTC already and keeps cash at the ready I could transfer the BTC to them and allow them to buy a copy of the game for themselves or anyone else if they wanted. I am not selfish, I just want my disc space back since I cannot realistically use them.

    I just found this:
    http://bitbills.com/

If it was currently working, that would be a welcomed thing. But it is not, and even if it were, it does not accept existing BTC as payment, so it is all but worthless. Still it is a really nice way to privatize currency in a usable and private form.

Humble Bundle is now accepting Bitcoins and can use the Paypal-like service known as Coinbase to facilitate the transaction too.

I transfered all my vast 1.02 BTC to Coinbase and bought a few bundles. :)

*Edit* For referring people to Coinbase, I would get 0.01 BTC per user who spends 1 or more BTC via Coinbase. Here is the referral ID. (Not Spam. Feel free to join without it. But know that anything I get from this will be spent on buying game bundles for others. I am not greedy.)

I think that I can demonstrate this too if anyone doubts where the BTC goes. But I am new to Coinbase.

Either way, Coinbase resolves the problem of massive data transfers and storage that the BTC network requires to function.

Note however that Coinbase scums 1% of all transactions as their fee. Not a bad rate, but if you have the money to spend, and the patience to wait for transactions to resolve via BTC you can get a much better rate.

(Daynab and others, if you feel this is spam, then no need to argue, just edit my post to remove the offending link.)
