Thanks, guys, I'll have to give this a go-around and see what comes of it.
I've begun uploading another revision 33 playthrough:
Here's the entire playlist:
Parts: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
Some surprising behaviour from foxes in part 2, and some desperate starvation in part 4.
Great videos! Enjoying the comically tragic events taking place.
Also, I'm pretty sure you never assigned a work group to your church, which is why you don't have the Vicar.
Always enjoy seeing these! Also, saw some things I can do better in my own colony.
As long as you keep posting videos, I'll keep watching 'em!
I appreciate that you avoided building shoeboxes. Are multistory buildings a thing you'd like to see in the game eventually?
(Side note: great Diggle!)
I'm a German history enthusiast with a passion for flightless birds. Sadly I cannot take credit for the Prussian Diggle, my girlfriend drew it.
Here's a larger image
I was really sad when I went to buy a plush Diggle and found you'd stopped selling them. So she also made me a plush Diggle with a little Prussian uniform.
Sorry for the terrible image quality
I don't know how long it took her to hand sew it all
I'm currently in Germany and I took him with me, his name is Helmuth
That painting and the plush are both great!
From watching vid 5, the issue of:
Colonist flees into wilderness
Colonist is murdered
'Burial' job created
Colonist enters wilderness to recover body
return to step 2
Doesn't appear to have been completely resolved.
Indeed not; working on it!
Have re-worked "Burial" for next experimental version, now need to make both fleeing and pursuing work better.
Very cool! Keep up the good work!
I have also started my R33 playthrough:
Will release a new video every other day at 4pm uk time
Woo more videos:
I've just started an [r33a] playthrough that covers the food, bandit, and cloth changes:
Continued with part 2, 3, and 4.
Keep 'em coming Alephred, I'm really enjoying your videos. You have a good voice for it too.
Oh, I have a question. Do you think the wording of the cultist conversation is a bit strange. "(S)He enjoyed a conversation about the growing problem of the Modern Cultist today". Surely that implies that the colonist thinks that cultists are a problem and is therefore not a cultist?
I would perceive from that:
She is a cultist
Cultists bring disorder to the world
She enjoys doing so, as she is one
As such, she enjoys hearing about other people 'complaining' about cultists (basically reinforcing her views on what she has done)
Yeah, that particular message is a bit ambiguous. As I recall, that one has two variations - discussing the Modern Cultist, and Enjoying discussing the Modern Cultist.
Every memory that could potentially indicate Cult thought has two variations - general discussion, and enjoyable discussion. The general rule seems to be that enjoying any sort of Cult topic means you're a potential cultist, so the question is whether that rule is inverted for the memory that explicitly identifies the Modern Cultist as a problem, or whether it continues to follow the general rule.
I suppose the way to settle this definitively is for some enterprising soul to dig into the scripts.
I've begun my foray into r34!
As usual, starting with a fresh colony, and pointing out the new stuff (or whatever I feel like babbling about) as I play through. Now with parts 2, 3 and 4.
Just a quick single-episode look at version 34c (I'm saving a more substantial playthrough for version 35):
I talk about Mines, Bamboo, sustainability, and things I barely understand, like AI pathfinding, brushfire algorithm, and AZDO.
*edit*: Well. In the time it took to upload and process this video, the monthly patch art for Version 35 was posted on the front page. I hope this video isn't obsolete before it finishes encoding. Actually, no, I would be fine with that.
My first patch 35 video is up:
2, 3, 4, etc to follow every Sunday
Patch notes thoughts on 35 and 34 are also up, but 35 changed so little I decided not to make too much of a fuss about it!
I've started my Revision 35 playthrough as well.
A game in the Fishman-infested jungles of New Sogwood!
As usual, subsequent episodes in the playlist will be linked here.
Episode 2. 3. 4 (this one ran extra long)!
