Some kind of way to know whether you have an unbroken line to a tile

A lot of times it will look like there is an uninterrupted path to a given tile but when you fire a bolt at it or throw an alchemical toxin canister it turns out that something that you thought was safely off to the side was actually in the way. It would be nice to have some way of displaying the path between your square and another given square beforehand so that I don't keep wasting Alchemical Toxin Canisters.

So there's actually a way to tell this. Missiles don't follow the path they appear to.
If the missile is targeted to the northeast of you it will move up until there is a diagonal path to the target, then move along that diagonal to the target.
If the missile is targeted to the northwest of you it will move along a diagonal until it is directly below the target, then will move up until it reaches the target.
If the missile is targeted to the southeast of you it will move down until there is a diagonal path to the target, then move along that diagonal to the target.
If the missile is targeted to the northwest of you it will move along a diagonal until it is directly above the target, then will move down until it reaches the target.

    Abuse this knowledge well.

Certain thrown missiles actually seem to ignore intervening terrain. For example, throwing daggers do this. Just thought I'd throw that out there (so to speak).
