The combination of a Patch 1.0.8 beta and the expansion pack alpha has been uploaded to Valve. Some notes, C&Ped from the Something Awful forums: - The official expansion screen? Isn't in yet. But you will be able to guess the title. Please don't announce it yet, we'd like to do a slightly more official announcement? I think. Whatever. I'm sure someone will leak the damn thing. - There are a bunch of bugfixes and tweaks here that will also be going into the 1.0.8 core release. There are new skills in a bunch of the old skill trees; for instance, Magical Training now has one spell in it (!), and Vampirism will let you turn into a Batty. - I expect a LOT of broken stuff and to be miserable as hell while we get this sorted out. - The Big Game Hunter skill tree is disabled, so you have five trees to play with (Emomancy, Werediggle, Demonologist, Vegan, and Piracy.) There are some other trees we are working on that aren't as fleshed out yet (Hermetics, Magical Law); we're disabling those until we get them a little bit more figured out. - I expect mini-branches to be hideously unbalanced and super crashy. - This is mainly code complete, but not content complete. In particular, we have a bunch more work to do on the skills, we may be adding those other two skill trees back in, and David has a todo list involving creating about a hundred new rooms, and about ninety-four new items. Most of my actual "add the new things NAO" work, though? Should be done. - We also have to adjust all the monsters, and nothing is balanced, and it's generally going to be awful until about Tuesday, once we get some feedback and some more time to sort things out and David finishes moving. (Does that last one sound familiar? Why does this always happen to us?) I'll get some better changelog notes up when I have a chance. In the mean time, enjoy the SECRET STUFF.
