I decided that since I keep finding these cool (well, I think they are cool) or interesting non-game related Kickstarters and Indiegogo campaigns that instead of creating a new topic for each of them, I'd just start one long thread to add to.

    First, there's this:
I really loved "Firefly", especially it's sense of humor, and I also thought that "Serenity" was a really fun movie. Anyway, two of the guys from Firefly (Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk) are coming together to create a web series called "Con Man". Watch the video for an explanation. What I find is amazing (though not ENTIRELY surprising) is that with 28 days left, not only have they met their funding goal, but they totally have demolished almost every stretch goal as well.

Second, in related news, I mentioned earlier the Kurt Vonnegut documentary Kickstarter -- well it's been funded .

Third -- I just randomly found this campaign. I'm a huge fan of Cerebus. I think the series went a bit off the rails towads the end, abandoning its satirical tone, and getting far, far too dark and serious. I'm actually not going to support this, even though I'm a huge fan of the old comic book. But I felt that the narrator in the attached video is so completely, and absurdly awful that I just wanted to share it:

(oh, and yeah, I know that's Dave Sim, creator of Cerebus, but still... Awful lol. Knowing what I know about him, he's almost certainly crazy. But he's also a genius).

But seriously, EVERYONE ought to read Cerebus. It's an amazing comic, it's smart, hilarious, and just all around terrific. It lost me later on, so I stopped following it after a while. But when it was good, there was nothing else that compared to it. It started out as a spoof/satire of Conan the Barbarian, and its sword and sorcery ilk. But it became so much more. The story evolved and changed over time. Cerebus the Aardvark starts as a lowly Aardvark barbarian 'the Earth-Pig Born', eventually gets into politics, becomes the Pope, and so on. The story goes through all of these widely different phases, and for the most part is hilarious throughout.

There's this other really cool kickstarter here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1604258079/the-last-film-festival-dennis-hoppers-unseen-final

I can't say that Dennis Hopper is one of my favorite actors, but he's certainly had some memorable roles, some good movies, and many really interesting movies. "Blue Velvet", "Easy Rider", and "Apocalypse Now" are ones that immediately come to mind. I have no idea whether this movie is going to be any good. So I'm not sure I'd actually support it. But it does seem interesting enough to post about it here.
