If you want in on the chaos, feel free to join everyone in IRC for all of a minute to grab the current Release Candidate. But release dates basically ruin the day of everyone involved and require less attention to things that should be done in order to meet the date. There will be no committed date for the DLC.

The RC is currently under 8MB, so it is easy and fast to grab. It may or may not destroy the known universe, but I can assure you it is fun to play! (Your saves may or may not load. That always is a question with each new RC.)

I can say that about 90%-95% of the expansion content is finished and ready to ship.

FWIW, Valve has given us a release window of June 5th for this. So pretty much regardless of when we actually finish the infernal thing, that's when we're lofting this out the door.

Thanks, all! I'll try installing it again Windows-side; sounds like I didn't install it properly. And I'll play with the Mac version if and when it's available.

I was hoping to get a Rogue Science run in before D3 ships and overtakes the entirety of my free time. I'll gladly wait for the official release though; the new stuff all looks and sounds brilliant!

That's nice of them to dictate when you can release it, but I'll be glad to have it :)

so does that mean i cant play DoD for a whole month? these days all i get is "game is not available ATM,try again later",i assume its because its "being patched",anyone else can run DoD on steam or is it just me?

Whenever a game is stated as "not available", you can usually fix it by restarting Steam.

Nope, that's due to it not being able to sync with the steam cloud.

You can ignore steam and play DoD without it by launching the .exe file deep in your hard drive, you don't need steam to be running at all, great for when steam's "offline mode" isn't working (*cough ALL THE TIME*_

I don't use the offline mode very often, but it has worked for 2 out of the 3 times I used it and the time it didn't work I didn't have a chance to check it out as my internet came back up.
