    Her skin should be ashen.

Oooh, swag. Could you perhaps change the mouths so that they're lines like Dave's mouth? The grin kinda throws off the shades. And no, I don't think so.

Dave swag has been updated. I'll have the grimdark next. Done. Turns out I don't understand the meaning of shading. Solution: Trial and error. Mostly error.

Edit: Another one done. Feel free to request a background change. Or to fix the hair.

Awesome! .... but yeah the hair could use a little fixing. It looks a little grainy. Work from 640x640 and then scale down? It's what I'd do. Could you draw the Heroine in mid-teleportation? Without the magic. I have an idea for one of the skills down Swag's tree.

Sure, it's probably the way I draw, as in which tools I use and which lines are on top of each other, so the fix might take some time. I know that part of it has to due with the sharp contrast between all of my colors. I'll test out the scaling down before drawing because I haven't figured out how to scale down without blurring like crazy.

Just to double check, I need to redraw the drunken mastury, draw dapper adventurer and teleportation.

Edit: Ooh, can I use the bec noir teleportation? Or should I use the Dirk teleportation. Bec looks so cool.

  5. Can I suggest something tied to Problem Sleuth? Maybe a Pulchritudinous Detective skill tree?
"You are one of the top detectives in the dungeon. Solicitations for your services are numerous. Compensation, adequate. You are feeling particularly hard-boiled today."

And then you get stuff like converting various non-lethal items into weapons and wands in the Weapon/Object Duality system (such as Key Pistols, Tootsie Roll Shotguns, Death's Variable Scythe, etc.), charming enemies on ranged attack, Sleuth Diplomacy, transformation into the Candy Corn Vampire, and- of course- the mighty Sepulchritude as the capstone. Lots of focus on Caddishness and Swiftness. Lots of abilities relating to charm.

Also, I suggest that Grimdarkness be a gish skill- alternating between Lovecraft-empowered stabs and beams of dark magic that soften your opponent up for more stabs- and Ironic Combat be a sort of damage-skills-for-rogues thing with lots of focus on short-ranged teleports that deal damage somehow.

I was actually planning on drawing keys but decided to draw other slightly more colorful things. Good idea, I'll get on drawing some of those. A problem sleuth skill tree is a great idea, transformation is a bit tricky because that require either custom sprites or to use one of the existing monsters. Charming is easy, just reuse code.

Drunken Mastury is now remastered. My solution was to use a slightly larger pen size and use the airbrush extensively.

Ah... Excellent. That does look better, yes. Might I suggest saving in .png? Who cares about image compression? BD

As for a Problem Sleuth skill tree.... That does sound really useful, yes. I can probably draw out a few ideas for the convertions (we can just use some direct conversions like perhaps a log/timber/stick to a wooden sword). I'll have to sit on that one. Charming would indeed be easy. And I was actually planning for Grimdarkmancy to have status debuffs like that insanity and power drain one. Grimdarkmancy would actually be more focused on debuffing and cursing your enemy rather than do direct damage.

Edit: *trips* Oops I dropped a screenshot.

I thought it was already in png format. I always have a xcf file for editing and a png export. I'll send it again.

I'll also be gone for the weekend w/o wifi, so don't expect anything soon.

I hope this comes with a reskin for Plastic Caltrops into D8's.

I though D4's were more like caltrops since D4's have a pointed tip, and a D8 has a flat top.

Edit: I just figured it out, the png issue. It's because I interchangeably use upload thumbnail and upload full image. If it looks like a jpg, then click on it, then save the image on screen. It should be png.

  12. The text for Plastic Caltrops strongly implies they are d4's, yeah.

Anyway, reskinning existing material isn't actually particularly easy with mods right now. So it'd probably be better to just add new traps ("Broken magic eight ball pile")

  13. Do you mind if I make a few suggestions?
Rather than just using a few of Rose's abilities, what about having it be based on the entire horrific spectrum- including Feferi's horror communion and the whole Dream Bubble system? Including:

    Bubblr Savior
You've struck a deal with a particularly lucid outer being-calamari lovechild, and have been granted the right to escort dreamers into the silent folds of the dream bubbles in order to allow a worm of Horrificterrific influence into their minds. Of course, this isn't entirely pleasant, but why were you expecting it to be?
Basically, it lets you summon an area of Narcoleptic Dream-Death Runes traps, which put your foes to sleep and reduce their :resist_nercomatic:, dealing some :dmg_necromatic: as well. When they wake up, though, they get a buff that gives them :dmg_necromatic: and :resist_nercomatic: but constantly deals damage.
    Thorncoddle
Can your mother stitch, buddy? Because you can, and you prefer to use horrific tangles of thorns rather than wool. Nobody likes the sweaters you make them for Christmas, and for even more legitimate reasons than usual.
Probably debuffs your enemy's defenses or stitches them in place.

And I figure that Problem Sleuth's items wouldn't have direct Innocuous Doubles (I.E. Stick = Sword), but that items that require a certain level of skill to craft/brew/smith/wand or that have more stars change into higher level equipment. For example, a Bolt of Mass Destruction would probably become the Smith Corona Blotspitter, PS's highest ranked weapon. A Rusty Sword would become one of Ace Dick's Unbelievably Shitty Guns.

I'm not sure if a new trap would be needed, but we'll see. I'm focusing on getting the abilities and skillsets right first, though. This is harder than I thought. Is anyone willing to help me with the code >:?

and, Bubblr. I was expecting that. I'm tempted to make a r4d skillset, but if we keep adding things, this mod may never be done. xD

Edit: I wasn't much into Problem sleuth, so someone would have to help me on that front. :/ It sounds cool, but we'd need a lot of custom sprites to keep this all up.

  15. If you want a skill tree for every character, this mod will probably never be done ANYWAY :p

I'd probably wait on the pre-scratch trolls until a bit more characterization of them has shown up, though. 'cause there's already like, 20 or more characters WITHOUT them so it's not like there's a shortage of skill trees to do.

  16. Basically, I figure that we can use these weapons:
    1. Unbelievably Shitty Gun (You are surprised that this thing can even fire without exploding, and then somehow giving your target something new to live for (possibly a wife and children).)
    2. Pistol (In accordance with Bolt Council regs, it's been modified to take either delicious candy or bolts instead of bullets, and you can't spare your candy corn. It is simply too precious.)
    3. Tootsie Roll Shotgun (The chocolate is as succulent as it is capable of cruelly euthanizing an injured licorice horse.)
    4. Jaw Breaker Cannon (You are named Chinscourge, Burgermeister of the Toothshatter Enterprises, and everywhere enamel shudders at your name.)
    5. Cathedral-Linked Sniper Rifle (This sniper rifle is linked to an enormous cannon attached to a similarly enormous cathedral tower; the cannon is calibrated such that wherever the rifle fires, so too does the cannon. How the cannon fires into the dungeon, we may never know.)
    6. Death's Variable Scythe (Death is a busy personification, and he needs to perform a number of unsavory tasks in his unlife. As such, he wields a blade that is essentially a Swiss Army Knife invented for Shapeshifter Platoon of the Diggle Scouts.)
    7. Smith Corona Blotspitter (This is a weapon running solely on the devastating sick burns that you cook up with your percolating charisma. The ammunition? Unpleasant notes to the enemy. The attack? A motion for the unilateral cessation of all hostilities. The dinging noise it makes whenever you load it? Highly threatening. It's like a gun made sweet love to a typewriter and they both passed on the Annihilation Gene.)

    Oh.
Didn't Vriska complain about stepping on them all the time though? Or does she roll two D4's or something? Oh well.

[[ If you're taking weapon suggestions, I'd be happy to throw out some ideas. ]]

*cackles* true. I still have no idea how to do Dapper Adventuring. May have to go switch that one for something else.

Edit: this one was to the 20+ and growing characters comment. I have got to stop leaving the page unrefreshed...

Edit2: I would appreciate some suggestions or any ideas anyone might have. I'd have to filter them though. Unless someone else wouldn't mind helping me code all of this. *learning as she does this*

  19. She may have had more dice sets than just the fluorite octet; but yeah her primary weapon was 8d8. Of course I'd assume that was kept in her Sylladex soooo that's probably not what she's stepping on. And d4s are the worst to step on :p

As far as coding, if you have actual stuff to code I can probably figure it out. (I'm I think too busy trying to brainstorm my own mod plans to do design at this point, but implementing stuff shouldn't be too hard.)

(...as long as you don't try to implement the fluorite octet AS WRITTEN in canon anyway.)

Well, it's more like help me when I'm stuck and answer some noob questions that I'm too ashamed to post as a thread.

Edit: Also, I think we'll be focusing on Grimdarkmancy for now. Get things done right one at a time instead of doing a crap job at everything all at the same time. Mainly because I'm still learning and don't want to mess something up by over-planning.

Edit2: By all means don't stop suggesting things. But I'll just be focusing on Grimdarkmancy. Will release the skilltree when it's out.
