Do not pick up items out-of-sight items.

  1. Currently, if you click on a distant tile containing an item, that item will always be picked up when your character reaches that tile (the usual monster interruptions aside). This applies even when you can't see the item because it's out of your character's field of view. The result of this is that when backtracking over previously-explored areas you sometimes pick up items by accident and might not even notice if you have the animation speed turned up. Re-dumping junk is annoying and it's not likely that a player will deliberately remember the exact location of and attempt to retrieve from a distance an item they've already left behind, so ... *title*

    If it were the way you want it to be, it would be really bad, because people generally want their characters to pick junk they can't see, just so they would not have to check all obstructed areas tile by tile.

    You can simply WASD your way through.

    I think it's more about the auto-loot options than that here.
     
  5. A clarification: this occurrence happens when and the suggestion is for auto-loot turned off.
