I'm going to have to back out of the rest of this. Work/personal life are going to be crazy for a bit it seems. Sorry all and good luck.

(Have fun you two, and good luck with work stuff!)

    Overseer Phoenix's Report, as follows:

After some paperwork mixup back home, I was sent back to the Colonies on the very next airship. I landed in the evening, returning to an exceedingly blood-splattered and untidy settlement. I shall have that remedied forthwith, alongside building a couple more ovens to satisfy our extensive culinary needs.

Naturalist Roast is still performing admirably, with much less rambling, and found a healthy vein of coal during the night (perhaps it was something else? It IS dark out here at night.)

Hubert Bronzecowl spoke a little sense, and for now, whilst our food stocks recover I have agreed that we are not to continue culling the Fishy Folk that walk abroad in these lands, lest we be overrun. He wanted friendship, but I am an avid believer in the purity of the Cog... so I shall ignore, for now, his ramblings.

A penal crew arrived not long after dawn broke, and I set them to cleaning up the bloody mess that was left behind from our previous battles. Everything has proceeded quite calmly and quietly, though three more plebians wandered in through the pine trees and I set them to work.

One of them found something that unsettled them (probably a beetle of some sort) whilst working, and won't shut up about it. Thank the Cog they're leaving in a few days, eh?

Bronzecowl was reassigned from the fields to the newly-finished Smithy, and one of the other Overseers took his place. I bolstered the numbers of all the farming teams, so that we might have more refined farming efficiency.

We were sent a Congratulatory Landmine by the Ministry, and I am quite proud to recieve it. We left it out in the field, for now, for safety's sake.

A small Chemist's Shop has been planned out, and though one of the ovens has broken, the two extra I ordered constructed have been very useful in containing the influx of food provided by more manning of the fields.

As the night falls on the twenty-first day, I arrange for an airship flight for a sojourn offshore. Hopefully, the following Bureaucrat shall prosper too!

    Hey folks,

For some reason I didn't anticipate my turn coming up so soon. I'll be posting in the next 3 or 4 hours.

Citizens, rejoice! Your lord and master returns!

I return after, um, a sit in session with the cosmic masters to find the colony in disorder following the departure of Lily Phoneix. We have no cooked food and still no housing aside from THE PALACE OF WISDOM and a barracks, so my immediate concern is to remedy the situation.

My stewards have failed to obtain the gold necessary for the PALACE OF WISDOM or the sulphur required to create behavioural correction medicines. We will need them when we inform the empire I now lead it.

    Day 20

Accepted a bandit into the colony at first light, which broke a ceasefire with the bandits I had not ratified, or known about. I've ordered the mining of sulphar and setup a new farm plot. We may need to move labourers about to man it, but I'm not allowing the colony to fall on my watch.

I've ordered a series of explorations around the colony in an attempt to locate gold. In doing so I realised we built a mine without the ability to create the shaft. We'll have manage our iron supply carefully once the metalworks is operating.

A group of protesters gathered to demand a chapel not dedicated to me. I had the troops deal with the situation, although the dissenters back home somehow got wind of this.

I laid out plans for a new larger kitchen to help cope with our rapidly increasing food demands (we've had another 7 migrations today alone). My fame is clearly spreading.

    2015-11-11_00001.jpg

We've been attacked by a fishman! The seadevil somehow infiltrated the town and killed Mr Bronzeores, a labourer, before our men of steel could respond. The creature fought desperately, injuring several others.

    2015-11-11_00002.jpg

For reasons unknown to me, several colonists have taken to sleeping in our unfinished mine. I can't see a reason to prevent this, but I am concerned by this apparent splinter group.

    Day 21
Bronzecarter demanded peace with the fish menace. I showed him the place in the colonial legal code where the one man, one vote rule is. And I already voted.

    I have sulphur! And I just realised I don't have a chemist!

I ordered a fresh set of exploration and commandeered an airship, looking for the gold required to finish THE PALACE OF WISDOM. It is dishearting to see we have now toughly surveyed a considerable area without result. Also our population is continuing to rocket - the ministry sent a commemorative landmine for reach 50 population, which I choose to see as passive aggressive.

    Day 22

Dreadful news! The Stalmarkian war machine has sent a crack troop to our region. The colonial airship patrol reports they are engaging local bandits, so we are hopeful that their casualties will make they easy targets. Our NCO is puzzled by this action. Is their spy network so feeble that they haven't learnt of our presence here?

Pansy's Tough crew have been routed by the enemy.

Our metalworks is now sufficiently complete to permit basic operations. I've had a number of iron ingots ordered to cover our immediate needs.

The merciless Stalmarkian troops attacked! Coming from the north they assaulted the mine, leaving many civilians helplessly exposed while the troops formed up in town.

    2015-11-11_00003.jpg

Our brave NCO opted to single handedly attack the enemy who were content to mow down civilians on the outskirts. We gave her live in the best traditions of hopelessly attacking a superior force.

    2015-11-11_00004.jpg
Our redcoats, seeing this, broke and dispersed. Taking emergency action I recruited an entirely new militia. Its leader enjoyed a short career of being immediately cut down before even locating a weapon.

It was at this point the fishmen attacked from the opposite direction.

    2015-11-11_00005.jpg

Realising that the colony itself was now in a critical position, I immediately recruited our kitchen staff as they were all within the main colony. I abandoned any further attempt to retake the mine and began street to street fighting with the fishy menace who were apparently working with the enemy. Fortunately they were undisciplined and came at us in two distinct groups.

The resulting battle lasted all night and by morning, we had held. 20 colonists, fully a third of our population had died in the chaos, but we held.

    -----
    For the next player

    • The militia is on their way to the mine. I've not seen Stalmarkian troops for a while, but it's been a while since I've seen the mine and I can't guarantee they aren't coming to the colony.
    • The kitchen crew is still assigned as the militia. At some point you'll probably want to assign a more appropriate workcrew.
    • The workcrew assignments are totally borked. They'll need completely reviewing in all likelihood once the situation is completely under control.

    Day 23

I've returned to the colony once again; it seems the place has positively fallen to pieces without me. My first glimpse of the state of affairs is the discouraging sight of fishman corpses in every direction, and our own graveyard is filling rapidly. Well, I'll soon get this sorted out.

If nothing else, the Palace of Wisdom is nice to look at, but I fear its construction and upkeep are an excessive burden to the colony - the Job list has become an unmanageable tangle, and the town has several construction projects stuck in a half-finished state. The Metalworks and Iron Mine I began during my previous stay have still not been completed, and a new, larger Kitchen appears to be faring no better.

    shot065.jpg

Speaking of the iron mine, the soldiers are milling about there, and several corpses are attracting beetles, who inevitably swarm toward our crops. Fortunately, they are generally intercepted by the aforementioned soldiers before they can do any damage to our fields. Three workers arrive on foot, and I set them to work immediately.

I've put the Crew tilling the flax field to better use - we have 50 flax in the stores, and no place to put new beds. It is evening now, and hungry colonists are eating food raw. Where is the kitchen staff? Apparently they were all conscripted before I returned. I've assigned a new crew to cook for the workers,

    Day 24

    shot068.jpg

A number of fishmen circled the mine suspiciously, before viciously attacking the workers who had come to finish construction of the mineshaft. Fortunately, the Militia was already present and leapt to the defense; sadly, Overseer Lenora Thompcowl was slain in the Battle of Iron Hill - at least she was not overseeing any active workshops.

    shot069.jpg

Things are finally looking up - the new kitchen is complete, the metalworks is complete, and has produced some iron ingots, and so the mineshaft can now be completed. I have assigned Swindly Potpie & co. to the Barbershop, as requests for medical treatment have been piling up at an alarming rate. As the very last thing I do here, I have requested a criminal work crew from the home country to help with reconstruction.

The colony was in a dire state when I arrived, but after some drastic but necessary re-organization, I believe we are on a good footing again. Food production is bustling, most of our workshops are operating, and we will soon be ready to accept more immigrants.

  9. Day 25
    Day 25.JPG
I arrive at the colony early morning while @razrien is in transit, so I took it upon myself to do some paperwork and tidy up in the meantime. At first glance, there appears to be a significant number of unfinished tasks as well as both the ceramics and kitchen # 2 workshops are both unattended. While I serve as a junior bureaucrat for the ministry during this weekend, I am a druggist by trade. Therefore, the unresearched canopic jar and idol of quaggaroth are just begging to be researched amidst the current order to continue @Alephred 's restoration projects. What to do, what to do. . .

    Day 25 part 2.JPG

As we have very few cooked food available, I have diverted the entire two workers from Muriel Whistlehook's Workgang to make a full house for the kitchen workshop, Blanche Bronzeton's Workcrew. Good news comes in the form of a notification that worker Elsa Riverbottom has become better at carpentry. Progress! On the other hand, I was warned that animals are eating the crops; however, I did not see any signs at the wheat farm. No bad news is good news, I guess. Sights and sounds of labor are everywhere, except for the sleeping barber and naturalist crews. Well, you can't win them all. Upper-class Ellsworth Steeltar moves around as I get notice that a cot has finished building. Huzzah! Colonists again clamor for a chapel; the mob calms down once I make the usual empty promise to do so. As news of a stone oven breaking down, I wait for some stone to be quarried as we only have 2 remaining blocks left. It's one thing after another as Hubertus Bronzecowl asks me to become friends with these imaginary creatures that can only be described as Fishpeople. While the previous policy was hostility, our reduced numbers really cannot risk antagonizing anyone - so Friendship it shall be. In order to cover my derriere, I claim that I am following Hubertus Bronzecowl's recommendation of friendship. Cog save us all if I am mistaken! As the afternoon approaches, Cog is indeed merciful as the barbershop informs me that Ada Riverthewer was healed of a painful wound. The news makes the tea I sip more satisfying than usual. :)

    Muriel Whistlehooke.JPG

Unfortunately, groans of hunger rumble throughout the colony. The stone oven is till broken. This compels me to survey the surface stone quarry as worker Muriel Whistlehooke unearths a strange artifact, an Obeliskian Seal! While this is an amazing discovery in itself, she did it while she was literally one with the stone being mined. Astounding! As not much can be done to speed up the construction of the additional ovens at the moment, I plug my ears with cloth to drown out the complaints of hunger. Let them eat raw food, I say!

    Surf and turf.JPG

I greet the late afternoon as I give accolades to NCO Bellis Chain as she has gotten better in the Art of War. I feel safer already! Additional good news comes as a mineshaft construction and another cot have been completed. My rounds take me near the Metalworks. My Clockworkian sensibilities are put to the test when I witness the sight of a dead Fishperson caught in his/her last act of intimacy with his/her long pork partner. Who am I to question a foreign culture's customs? Unfortunately, I am unable to order a decent burial for the two lovebirds, so they are apparently there to stay. I nervously divert my attention elsewhere as evening approaches. More good news as Blanche Bronzeton is healed of an infected wound, Elsa Steeltemper cured of an abdominal wound, and our naturalist Noah Roast found a suitable mining site for more sphalerite is a nearby hidden forest hideaway a few clicks northwest of the colony. Additionally, we now have a complete stone smelting crucible, doubling our smelter capacity. A telegraph informs me that Imperial Airship Corps reports that a group of Fishpeople have been spotted moving along the shoreline. While I am not worried due to our friendly diplomatic relations, I check on the state of our military personnel and equipment. One soldier, Victoria Bronzehook, is reported to be drinking due to sadness while the NCO and the remaining soldiers are idle. Cog save us and compel these finned beings into friendship (because we are all bloody scrapped if the military has to deal with this)!
    bandit beetles.JPG Bandit.JPG
The last light of day greets us with word that the another oven is busted just as the previous one is repaired. Additionally, we are asked to be vigilant as word arrives of an approaching herd of giant beetles. I wonder how accurate the Jezail rifles are in the hands of drunk marksmen? I guess we will find out. It appears that my order for Bandit Scout cookies will be delayed due to the Giant Beetle stampede disrupting their routine as tents are flattened, campfires are stomped on the cliff north of the colony. I scream vengeance for my Bandit Scout cookies as I order the military to hunt these, these . . . Cookie Monsters! Wait, what is this? Sounds of gunfire, but I have not yet ordered the hunt. A stroke of luck has allowed us to detect a lone armored bandit armed with a pistol taking potshots at our colonists. The Cookie Monsters can wait, as I personally fill the paperwork for the military to escort the Bandit on a one-way appointment to the Almighty Cog in the after-world. Fidelia Goldentemper is healed of an Infected Wound that I suspect was caused by the Bandit's shooting spree. I nervously bite my fingers as NCO Bellis Chain first arrives at the scene and gallantly fires a volley of hot metal from her pistol. In the middle of the heated exchange, the miscreant abruptly flees as other soldiers arrive. A series of rally point changes corrals the criminal into a concentrated circle of flying bullets. Despite his/her makeshift armor, the bandit is defeated. Success! I congratulate our brave veterans as I stamp the burial paperwork for the newest addition to our graveyard. I fill out in triplicate the order to resume the Giant Beetle hunt. Incidentally, the stone oven is fixed. Let us hope it stays fixed for a while. News of our colony's survival has afforded us some measure of prestige in the Empire! This should quiet down some of the naysayers in the mainland.;)

    Day 26
    Day 26.JPG
Daybreak warms our bones. As more ovens are completed, I order Gideon Sander's Assembly into the previous Kitchen workshop while the more experienced Kitchen workcrew moves into the larger, more modern Kitchen #2. I receive work that the ungrateful NCO Bellis Chain publishes a negative review of our colony. Luckily, no one seems to care. The alcoholic Victoria Bronzehooke has finally learned to be a proper Redcoat. Hip Hip Huzzah! :)
    Aesop.JPG
It was farm worker Aesop Phossyjaw's fondest wish to make a friend on the frontier. And it looks like the wish came true as we see him gleefully(?) running from his new giant, armored friend in what I suspect is a friendly game of tag. While this may decrease crop production, we have plenty of raw produce. I will look the other way in the mean time. The game of tag comes to an end as a lone bullet tags the giant, starting its eternal slumber. While I can forget my Bandit Scout cookies, I look forward to an unexpected shipment of freshly butchered Beetle Steaks. Our Healthcare policy seems to show positive outcomes as prison worker Maude Bruchusherde is healed of an Infected Wound. Wonderful! :D
    3 colonists.JPG
The efforts of stimulating production to entice the arrival of more works comes to fruition as 3 new workers arrive. I welcome them with open arms as I sip another bottle of chicha to go with some freshly cooked Beetle steak. Most of the new labor are allocated to mining surface nodes to stockpile raw resources for future construction. Prison Overseer Gidgeon Sander has simultaneously learned to be better at cooking while at the same time being healed of a Grotesque Scar. Amazing! I start filling out additional paperwork due to being notified that the temporary prison work crew will leave shortly. I am grateful for their hard work, and I am glad we could help them in treating their physical afflictions. Evening news arrives that Fidelia Goldentemper is healed of a Head Wound. Frantically, I barely manage to complete all my paperwork as the first rays of dawn greet the colony. I hope to Cog that my unexpected visit will give the next junior bureaucrat, presumably @razrien , a better footing for his turn. Goodbye to all for now.

    For the next player:
    • While the complaints for hunger have stopped, all the cooked food seems to vanish as soon as it is made. Adjustments may be needed.
    • The only free work crew is Muriel Drummond's gang. They do not seem to be affiliated to any building or farm. No hauling job orders are marked as well. Please allocate their labor where needed.
    • While the save zip file shows it as number zero, I verified via timestamp that it is the correct save file.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------
    Day 27
    -----------------------------------------------------------------
I awoke to a bustling colony that I hardly recognized from my last visit.
New shops, a nice stock full of raw materials, and... a graveyard that seems to have mysteriously grown as well..
Ah well, such is life in the frontier!

The day began with a nice note from the empire, once again praising our colony.

After browsing through some papers and checking the stocks, I couldn't help but notice how low on food we were yet again.
So, my mission the next couple days will be to forage and scavenge as much as I possibly can. A job which honestly.. I don't mind doing at all.
I'll leave the building and expansion of our fine settlement to the others for the time being.

After shuffling around some overseers, I had to shut down the metalworks and ceramics shops for the time being in order to work on food production and foraging.
It appears we don't have quite enough overseers to go around, so we'll have to juggle with what we have on a as-needed basis.
At the end of the day, we actually had a very tiny surplus. ...that was immediatley eaten.
On the bright side, no one has starved just yet.

...though hostilities continue with the fishpeople
    [IMG]

    ---------------------------------------------------
    Day 28
    ----------------------------------------------------
    An airdrop of food arrived!

    ..which was immediately devoured
    [IMG]

    More rumblings about a chapel.
...huh.. thought we'd already built one? Ah well, perhaps later.

The rest of the day was rather uneventful.
I extended the shifts in the kitchen again in hopes of catching up, and ordered a 4th stove built in the new one.
It seems we're 'just' breaking even with starvation at the moment, even though new colonists keep crawling in from the woods.
Also we may need to build proper bunkhouses for the workers sometime in the near future. Many people are getting angry from lack of sleep, and fistfights break out quite often. Tempers are high, and tummies are empty.

Once again I leave the larders full of berries and fungus and raw food, and wish the next overseer the best of luck.

  12. Thanks, @razrien

Should we keep promising but never build a chapel, I don't know if there is a limit on how long we can keep doing it before we have a rebellion? Another option is to build one, but not assign a vicar.

Any thoughts on how we can get out of the "just barely getting fed" cycle?

Also, @redchaostry bowed out for now, so it is now @Lily Phoenix 's turn.

  13. razrien

We've got 2 fully staffed kitchens going all day (and past sunset now) doing literally nothing but cooking, and its still not enough.
(and they're cooking pretty much everything, beetle steaks, cubes of flesh, anything they can grab. Its nice that thats finally working now)

We've got a steady supply of raw food out the wazoo, but its just not getting cooked and into the stockpiles fast enough.

I guess we could try to build another kitchen?
We'd have to shut down another workshop to get it running though, and i've already had to shut down the ceramics and metal shop to make foraging crews.
Maby the carpentry or flax next? We've got enough lumber for the moment, so we probably won't need that one for a bit.
Or we could make the kitchen crews work around the clock for a couple days?
They'd be upset, but its better than starving to death.

We just don't have enough overseers to go around at the moment, and i'm not sure when we'll be qualified for more.

  14. Search crews are still out looking for missing junior bureaucrat @Lily Phoenix. Various unsubstantiated claims state she could be serving as a Vicar at a neighboring colony, fighting foul creatures from unknown realms, or even trying out more 'exotic' kinds of meat. We hope that she will eventually be found, safe and reasonably sane.

Due to the state of emergency, I have been pressed to work another shift until I have to serve my druggist duties.

    Day 29

    Day 29.JPG

The short term issues are: 1. Insufficient cooked food 2. Insufficient beds. Two full kitchen crews with stone ovens simply cannot keep up with the food demands of a colony of roughly fifty people. I agree with @Alephred 's long term plan to establish metal production. Iron, even perhaps, the high-technology steam ovens are necessary if we are to solve our hunger problems.

Taking risks, I disbanded both Kitchen (Bronzeton, Clawleather) crews. One crew will mine iron ore while the other works at the smithy. Unfortunately, we will have to eat raw food for at least a couple of days.

Oh, joy! Four bandits from Bessie's Squeeky-clean Buccaneers have set to plunder our settlement! I will be cautious and avoid unnecessary casualties. The bandits were successfully chased out at the expense of Gilbert Goldentar's life. Bandit Bessie Buccaneer retaliates by melee attacking retreating soldier Rota Bronzenchat with a bushel of Black Cup Fungus. Luckily, hostile Stahlmarkians are attacking a local bandit group as well. Whatever the outcome will benefit us, so I am glad. Good news comes that a stone oven is just completed. Tragedy comes in form of the death of miner Victoria Bronzehooke, shot via Stahlmarkian Jana Brandt's rifle. Jana takes aim at our Naturalist, some colonists, and soldiers. One soldier dies. After a series of rally orders, Bessie's Squeeky-clean Buccaneers are no more. Three colonists arrive, so we have a net increase of one person. The barbershop works hard to alleviate the horrors of combat [Muriel Whistlehooke (Grotesque Scar), Bessie Liverbottom (Infected Wound), Enola Crusher (Abdominal Wound), Lucreatia Pugil (Head Wound)].

    Day 30

    Day 30.JPG

Iron production seems to be moving along. I commission construction of one iron oven. Ada Riverthewer vocally opposes my policy of friendship with the Fishpeople. Airships sight these aquatic creatures patrolling the shore. I don't have time for this, so I reiterate and continue said policy. Quite a number of nearby lingonberry bushes are now ripe for harvest, so I order a bit of foraging. And the iron oven is quickly completed, but we'll need more charcoal to ramp up additional iron oven production. Therefore, I ask for an additional charcoal kiln to be built. Evening arrives and so do the expected cries of hunger. Colonists raid the stockpiles to eat raw ears of corn and bags of raw wheat flour. I was notified that the group of Fishpeople have left. Three cots simultaneously get damaged. I suspect sabotage. A head count shows that we somehow lost a colonist, from 48 to 47.

I leave the colony as Dawn of day 31 begins, I sneak out quietly lest the hungry colonists snack on me as well. I leave the colony to the very capable hands of my fellow bureaucrats until next time.

    For the next player,
    1. We will need to ramp up cooked food production.
    2. We will need to address the lack of beds.
    3. Regarding the two vacant kitchens. Please note that I have temporarily moved the kitchen workcrews to the Metalworks and Iron ore mine. You may transfer them back when you deem it appropriate.
    4. save zip file is number zero, verified correct file via timestamp.

Report #3 left by Overseer Phoenix, who apparently arrived late after some trouble with fishmen throwing rocks at their airship.

I arrived to little more than chaos, from chaos, with another Fishperson hassling a colonist. The militia swiftly chased it out of town and shot it dead, and I looked back to our progress.

There appears to be an excess of raw food, and a severe deficit in materials. A penal labour crew arrived not long after dawn - and they were immediately assigned to one of the kitchens, set to work on cooking some food for the coming days, whilst the rest of our settlers work.

Our settlers appear to have come to terms with the fact that we shall not be building a Chapel to the Cog in town, and have taken to discussing theology amongst themselves, no longer bothering my desk with countless requests. How quaint.

Given the state of our bedding situation, I had the plans drawn up for a Middle Class House (for our Overseers' use) and a large bunkhouse. Whilst they will take some time to complete, at least the work shall progress in the meantime. Only the most basic furnishings were planned for the houses, to save on iron supplies.

Alas! A coordinated raid from all the local bandit gangs was spotted - and I admit, to my chagrin, that I do not believe we can afford the loss of life. I permitted them to take what they wish - thankfully, from the look of it, not much of worth will be taken, and no more labourers' lives will be lost (not at this juncture, where they are sorely needed!).

It turned out in the end, that whilst this upset the Empire, no lives were lost, and they managed to provoke a local band of fishpeople, which eliminated one of the bandit gangs involved!

An overseer arrived after dawn on the 32nd day, just as our lumber stocks are dropping rather swiftly - doubtless to shore up the construction of the dormitories. She was set, with a labourer currently doing very little, to lop down a nearby forest, when she wasn't busy making bricks.

I began work upon replacing the stone ovens with Iron - one at a time, carefully, and at our abandoned kitchens first. No point pulling out an oven that's being worked with! The colonists partook in a little grousing for working non-stop, but I am sure with a cup of tea and a fresh loaf of bread they will quieten down.

Given the excess amount of Wheat sacks we currently have, I gave Grummond's group a break for a short while, so they might help with other work around the colony. They will be reassigned when the time comes.

Another Overseer arrived; The Empire's displeasure must be all for show for the fellows back home, I am sure. He has been set to work cutting lumber for the dormitories, and the Overseer's Dormitory is complete! Three more labourers stumbled in from the wilds, and were set to work immediately.

I have left a small note of details under the last bottle of Chicha I had stashed away in my bag, for the poor soul that comes ahead of me.

Did some people take their turns out of sequence? I'm a little confused.

  17. Yes, I took my turn(s) out of sequence due to my situation (still in flux, unfortunately).:( Not only that, but redchaostry bowing out also adds to the confusion. It should be @mailersmate 's turn, if I'm not mistaken.

Also, should we permit our Cthulhu worshipping colonists to celebrate Cthanksgiving? Perhaps donate some Cthuken for their festivities? :p

Must skip my next turn, as I got a large back tattoo yesterday and I'm gonna be staying at a friend's house for a few days while I learn how to clean it on my own.
    We should totally have cults.

I agree, I've been thoroughly entertained by all of your work in this colony, but I'd love to see some of the dark arts creep in. Unfortunately that can be pretty difficult in build 44 unless you just start starving everyone. :D

Guys, I'm having technical difficulties - the save won't load and is crashing the game.
I've tried three times. Before the third time I verified the game files and restarted the pc. No luck.

Can someone attempt to load it? Also @Lily Phoenix, are you playing in the stable branch?
I may need to issue a crash report if we can't work this out.
