AAAHHHH!!! RUN AWAY!!!

  1. Okay, so I've put in somewhere around 20 hours into this maddeningly wonderful game. I'm going around collecting things and beating up the baddies like I always do (this is level 1, mind you), and I go to tithe some Lutefish when all of a sudden.....

    THERE'S A DETH! A DETH ON LEVEL 1!!!!

For the next three minutes, the dialogue between me and my computer consisted of "AAAHHHH!!! RUN AWAY, RUN AWAY!! *shoot with arrows* RRRRRRRUUUUUNNNN!!!!"

This is rare but can happen. I've seen an enraged diggle on level 1 as well. Usually never more than 1 on an entire level in my experience.

I don't think they're too rare on level one, I usually see at least one or two and just try to draw into a solo battle.

happens a lot on rogue mode, but I am guessing you are not playing on that?

I've been more afraid of the few starts I've had after the update, even on Dwarf difficulty. Been opening the first door and being attacked by 3-5 diggles in my first room..for the first battle. :O

That happened twice in a row. Third one only had only ones and twos but the third (or fourth) door I opened had NINE batties! Ahhhh!!1

My next character shall be named Hudson. "We're all gonna DIE MAN!"

I've never even tried to play Elvishly Easy, but at least on Dwarvish Moderation and Going Rogue there are ALWAYS a couple of enemies from the next level on whatever level you are currently on.

It's pretty easy to just kite them into a gargoyle arrow trap, though.

They're not that hard, either. If you find Deth on first level, it will definitely be much weaker than the Deth on second level. Had no problem taking it down.

From my experience, the enemy has a level based on which floor you're on, but still it can be scary to find Deth on floor 1.
