So, one of my biggest gripes with gameplay right now is that as soon as workshops are "claimed" by an overseer, their workcrews basically stop doing ANYTHING but workshop related activity. This is a problem, as my colonists then start to starve to death as my DESIGNATED FARMERS decide to stand around the unfinished ceramics workshop and chat. All day and all night. Is this behavior intended and I'm just bad at the game?

I've noticed that a few times myself. At the moment I can't find a way to "unclaim" a workshop and give it to an overseer / workcrew that would do better at a job. I think manual assigning of work crews needs to be A Thing. If it is, then I haven't found it yet...(and no, turning certain jobs for a work crew on/off doesn't work except for hunting. At least not in my game)

Yep, many of my overseers spend all their time admiring the machinery

What happens if you deactivate the workshop?
